Explore the True Tropics of Vietnam

For many people the first thing they think about when they hear the name Vietnam is not vacation. That’s quite unfortunate because this often overlooked jungle is a tropical delight with much to offer the traveling vacationer.

Vietnam is a small country that lies in an ‘s’ shaped stretch of land along the East Sea and the Pacific Ocean, but more than that, Vietnam is home to splendid beaches, and vibrant jungle scenery. Go snorkeling in the ocean, or take a bike or horseback tour of this ancient and often historic land. A great way to see Vietnam is by bike if you have the energy. It provides a real experience of cultures combined with the vivid backdrop of tropical flora and fauna.

Being so surrounded by waters it is no surprise that there are wonderful boating experiences to be had in Vietnam. Cruising not far from Hanoi in the Ha Long Bay is breathtaking. The inlet is lined with magnificent mountains that rise up with jungle greenery covering the massive rock edifice. Many of the mountain trails have massive caves that are intriguing to explore and hikers can get swept away in the romantic beauty of the nature that surrounds them.

The Imperial City is another sight not to miss when exploring the exotic Vietnam countryside. Inside the fortresslike stone walls are many splendors. It is where the royal family lived, and there is an area called the Golden Throne that is where the Emperor used to sit.

Whether your pleasure is romantic scenery, historical places, or memorials of war, Vietnam holds vast experiences that will delight every taste. Travel to Vietnam on your next vacation and you will never again forget to think of it as ‘the’ place to vacation.

Mallorca Short Trip Tips

Mallorca is one of the most popular destinations for those jetting off on their holidays due to it being not too far from home, the sun and sea being plenty in supply and the whole area being family friendly.

If you are only away for a short period you will want to pack in as much as you can and with Mallorca having several very famous tourist attractions you should find it easy to make the most out of your time away.

Something you need to be sure to check out is the Palma Cathedral. Built on the top of an already existing Arab Mosque this magnificent structure began to take form in 1225, but was not finished until a much later 1600! The style is gothic and the sense of achievement you feel as you enter this building with its huge pillars, arched ceilings and massive stained glass windows will overcome you.

Once you have spent some time admiring the amazing work of over 4 centuries you could be forgiven for taking it easy and taking a trip along the coast. The beaches and sea side attractions are never too far away from wherever you may be and the white sand and warm breezes will welcome you for as long as you care to stay.

If you enjoy sampling food from traditional style restaurants then you will be spoilt for choice in Mallorca. Something that is very good about this holiday destination is that the tourism has not destroyed the culture and quaintness of the towns and villages that are home to so many of these restaurants.

An example of an old fashioned Mallorcan village is Valldemossa in the mountains. The buildings seem to come straight out of the mountain itself, with the mixture of green foliage in-between creating a location only found once in a blue moon. It’s a lovely place to spend a sunny afternoon with a light bite to eat, as apart from other tourists there is nothing else around!
